NHTSA Complaint #11514164 — 2016 NISSAN ROGUE

The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while the vehicle is parked after being driven, the vehicle is not able to be started with the key or the automotive starter. The contact stated that to regain power the driver or passenger door was left open for a couple of minutes and shut the door. The contact also stated that the vehicle started with the key after leaving the door open for a few minutes and then the vehicle makes a clicking noise. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the vehicle's starter was reset. Additionally, the contact replaced the battery. The failure has recurred twice since being repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 85,345.
