NHTSA Complaint #11512834 — 2020 FORD ESCAPE

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated that on various occasions, the driver's door was creaking while being opened or closed. The contact stated that the failure persisted, and that the driver's door and window failed to close as designed. The contact noticed that the driver's door hinge was loosened. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the driver's door needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the hinge was removed; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the warranty had expired. The approximate failure mileage was 29,000.
