Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the steering wheel became firm with the power steering warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer and the dealer stated that the power steering gear needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 175,000. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired. They believe that this failure is similar to other Ford vehicles that were covered under recall #19V63000 regarding the steering gear.
