The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the temperature gauge needle had gone into the red zone. The contact pulled over and opened the hood to allow the engine to cool down. The contact stated that the failure had occurred before, resulting in an engine replacement due to coolant leaking into the engine block and cracking the cylinder block. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that coolant was leaking into cylinder #2. The mechanic determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.
