Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at approximately 7 MPH leaving a parking lot, the power steering failed to operate as needed. The power steering assist and several other unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the steering gear motor needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign: 19V632000 (Steering). The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.
