NHTSA Complaint #11493823 — 2014 RAM 1500

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, there was a ticking noise coming from the engine compartment. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the camshaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V475000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
