NHTSA Complaint #11487886 — 2016 FORD FOCUS

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while her son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made a loud squealing sound. Additionally, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V735000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The manufacturer advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
