NHTSA Complaint #11487813 — 2015 DODGE JOURNEY

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 MPH, the vehicle was jerking. The contact stated that the RPM’s increased; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure persisted and while coming to a stop at a red light, the vehicle was stalling. The contact pulled over and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was then towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed there was no recall associated with the VIN. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
