NHTSA Complaint #11486957 — 2007 MERCURY MILAN

The contact owns a 2007 Mercury Milan. The contact stated while pulling out of the driveway, the contact depressed the brake pedal because of an oncoming vehicle however, the vehicle failed to stop as needed. The contact pumped the brake pedal and the vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle had passed the hydraulic control unit (HCU) test and had not experienced the failure listed in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) and that no failure was found. The manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 130,000.
