NHTSA Complaint #11482616 — 2016 NISSAN ROGUE

The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the driver's side front door sensor was faulty and advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the wiring harness was corroded, causing a short circuit to the driver's side front door sensor. The dealer informed the contact that the wiring harness and driver's side front door sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000 (Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 31,000.
