NHTSA Complaint #11475277 — 2014 FORD FUSION ENERGI

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion Energi. The contact stated that after parking and turning off the vehicle, the vehicle started rolling backward. The contact could hear an abnormal metal grinding sound. The vehicle then stopped independently. Upon starting the vehicle and attempting to drive, the vehicle failed to move. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where the battery was replaced. The vehicle was then towed to a second dealer, Lance Cunningham Ford (4101 Clinton Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37912), where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The dealer advised the contact that he had to pay out of pocket for the repair. The vehicle had been at the dealer since February. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train) however, parts to do the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
