NHTSA Complaint #11470155 — 2018 FORD F-350

Purchased my truck used on 10/12/2021 with 18,978 miles. I currently have 44,670.7 and I have had about 12 incidents of a shaking of the front end at highway speeds ( between 55-75) with two incidents happening in heavy Nashville traffic on I-65. The worse instance was 6/17/2022 when i crossed a road groove on the interstate (SB I -65 near a Riley Parkway) at approximately 70 mph and the entire front end shook uncontrollably. I worked to maintain control and move to the shoulder, but I was nearly rear ended by several vehicles and a tractor/trailer while attempting to get to the shoulder. My wife and children were in the truck too. I dropped the truck off at Murfreesboro Ford and they initially didn’t want to take the truck for inspection because they asked “ Is it currently doing anything? Drifting? Bouncing? Shuddering?” I replied, “No. it’s not doing anything now.” I had to insidt that the manager take the vehicle and inspect the front. This prompted me to look up the symptoms and learned about “death wobble!” I know why they didn’t want to take it in.
