NHTSA Complaint #11469131 — 2014 FORD FOCUS

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated while his daughter was driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle began to shake and failed to properly shift gears. The contact stated he was unaware of any warning lights were being illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the driver made the service representative aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that two years ago the vehicle was not drivable. The driver towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the TCM and the clutch plate to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the driver continued to experience the failure. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.
