NHTSA Complaint #11489020 — 2014 FORD FOCUS

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle hesitated and the engine stalled. The transmission fault warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the muffle shop where the diagnostic produced a code indicating that the catalytic converter was faulty however, the contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the canister purge valve, clutch assembly, second lever assembly tube, and cylinder assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 134,581.
