Consumer Description

While idling at an intersection my truck will “lunge” forward requiring me to apply excessive braking to prevent the vehicle from going into oncoming traffic. Ford has acknowledged that they have a known service bulletin on this issue related to CEL P054F or SSM45540 which states that the idle control sensor is alerted that the torque converter is malfunctioning. Ford has replaced several 2016 F350 vehicles under warrantee but since mine failed after the 100k warrantee expired, they are unwilling to repair my vehicle under warrantee. Since this failure has such a significant potential human harm, I believe it should be repaired under recall or warrantee to protect the lives of 2016 F350 owners. My dealership has estimated $4,500 for the torque converter replacement and I would like your help to get Ford to acknowledge this defect and repair at no cost to the owner.
