NHTSA Complaint #11466342 — 2015 GMC TERRAIN

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Terrain. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the windshield wipers failed while in use during a rainstorm without warning. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that his vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V165000 (Visibility) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was also notified of the issue and provided the same information as the dealer. The manufacturer informed the contact that the vehicle was safe to drive despite the failure. The contact repaired the vehicle himself. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
