NHTSA Complaint #11484218 — 2015 GMC TERRAIN

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Terrain. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V165000 (Visibility) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated while driving 50-55 MPH in a rainstorm, the windshield wipers stopped working and remained stuck in the middle of the windshield. The contact's husband depressed the brake pedal and veered to the side of the road until the rain stopped. The contact's husband continued driving to his destination. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the windshield wiper arm assemblies, module, and blades needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure and inquired about reimbursement. The manufacturer provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.
