NHTSA Complaint #11464181 — 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while driving 65-70 MPH, the vehicle stalled inadvertently. Upon veering to the side of the road, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic however, the independent mechanic was unable to replicate the failure. The vehicle was then towed to the local dealer. The dealer informed the contact that the diagnostic test would be performed at his expense as they would have to take the engine apart and would then reassemble it. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer also informed the contact they would follow up with the dealer and they would get back to him. The contact was awaiting a call back from the manufacturer.
