NHTSA Complaint #11443998 — 2017 FORD F-150

The electric power steering system can take up to 10 seconds to turn back on after the auto start/ stop function restarts the engine. The truck has done it intermittently since new, but now has started to do it more often. It has caused me a few close calls making right-hand turns. I start to take off only to find I have no steering assist and either have to manually steer the truck or stop and wait in the middle of an intersection for it to turn on. last week this caused me to run wide into the turn lane for the lane I was turning into, thankfully it was not occupied at the time or it could have caused an accident. Since it is not repeatable, and there are no warning/trouble lights the dealer is of no use. I asked when the truck was under warranty was told they didn't want to look at it unless it was able to be reproduced on demand. This issue is occurring at a rate of about 1-3 incidents a month.
