NHTSA Complaint #11440461 — 2016 FORD FUSION

The contact’s daughter owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while her daughter was shifting gears, the shifter cable fractured. The vehicle was towed to an unknown local dealer and diagnosed with a deterioration of the shifter cable. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred several times. The contact stated that zip ties were used to hold the shifter cable in place. The contact stated the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V471000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 83,000.
