NHTSA Complaint #11439525 — 2017 FORD FOCUS

The contact's mother owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle would hesitate upon the depression of the accelerator pedal without warning. The contact's mother initially took the vehicle to the dealer where they informed her that the clutch within the transmission needed to be replaced. Her mother then took the vehicle to Kurtis Chevrolet, Inc. (5369 Hwy 70 W, Morehead City, NC 28557) where the vehicle was purchased and was provided the same information as the other dealer. Her mother was then given an estimate for the cost of a new transmission. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred her to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
