NHTSA Complaint #11435458 — 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA

The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the primary hood latch inadvertently released, causing the windshield to crack, and denting the hood and fenders. The check engine and air bag warning lights were illuminated. The dealer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened, but the contact had not heard from the manufacturer since. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V315000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) which was associated with the VIN. However, the contact never received notification of the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 203,000.
