NHTSA Complaint #11426611 — 2012 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while her husband was pulling into a parking space, the power steering message appeared on the instrument panel causing her husband to have to use excessive force to steer the vehicle. Her husband had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where a temporary fix was performed however, the failure returned soon after repair. The contact called the dealer and she was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15V340000 (Steering). The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and referred her back to the dealer for assistance. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 99,759. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE DISPLAYED CODES C1277 AND C1963. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIRS MADE.
