Consumer Description

THE VEHICLE DROPS INTO 1ST GEAR FOR NO REASON, INCLUDING WHEN AT HIGH SPEED. THIS CAUSES THE REAR WHEELS TO SKID AND THE VEHICLE TO LOOSE CONTROL. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO TWO FORD DEALERSHIPS, AND THEY HAVE DONE THE SOFTWARE UPDATE UNDER RECALL 19S07, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. BOTH DEALERSHIPS TELL ME THEY BELIEVE THE LEAD FRAME NEEDS TO BE REPLACED TO FIX THE SUDDEN DOWNSHIFTING, BUT FORD CORPORATION REFUSED TO PAY THE COST OF THIS REPAIR BECAUSE FORD CORPORATION SAY THE LEAD FRAME IS NOT COVERED BY THE 19S07 RECALL UNLESS THERE ARE "ERROR CODES" (WHICH THERE ARE NOT, EVEN THOUGH THE TRUCK HAS DOWNSHIFTED THREE TIMES AT SPEEDS OF ABOUT 35 MPH SINCE THEY "FIXED" THE SOFTWARE).
