Consumer Description

2019 JETTA S WITH 1.4L ENGINE AND 8 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, GRINDING NOISE WHEN SHIFTING FROM 4TH TO 5TH UNDER LIGHT LOAD. NOISE IS AUDIBLE IN ALL DRIVE MODES BUT ESPECIALLY IN ECO OR NORMAL DRIVE MODES. DEALER SAID IT WAS NORMAL OPERATION OF THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND THAT NO FURTHER SERVICE WAS NEEDED. THIS NOISE DOES NOT SOUND SAFE OR HEALTHY FOR THE CAR OR FOR THE OCCUPANTS WITHIN THE CAR. VOLKSWAGEN NEEDS TO RECALL AND FIX THESE FAULTY TORQUE CONVERTERS BEFORE THEY DAMAGE CARS OR HURT SOMEONE.
