Consumer Description

ON WEDESDAY, AUGUST 14, 2019 AT 11:50 AM, THE SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY AND EXPLOSIVELY SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT AT ABOUT 40 MPH ON A SMOOTH COUNTY ROAD NEAR OLDWICK, NJ. THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF IMPACT BY ANY PROJECTILE AND THERE WERE NO TREES OR BUILDINGS ALONG THE ROAD. THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 80 DEGREES F. THE SUNROOF WAS TILTED OPEN AT TIME AND HAD BEEN IN THAT POSITION SINCE THE DRIVE STARTED ABOUT 10 MINUTES EARLIER. SHARDS OF GLASS FELL INTO THE CAR INTERIOR AND ONTO ME (THE DRIVER), PRESENTING A DANGER OF PERSONAL INJURY AND LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.
