Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND A BURNING ODOR WAS PRESENT. THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE OIL CAN GASKET NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE GASKET WAS REPLACED, BUT THE WARNING INDICATOR WAS STILL ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000.
