Consumer Description
WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH ON BUSY ROAD, VEHICLE LOST POWER. WAS ABLE TO COAST TO SIDE OF ROAD. VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. NO IWARNING/INDICATORS OF ANY PROBLEMS BEFORE LOSS OF ACCELERATION. ONLY INDICATOR THAT CAME ON AFTER WAS MAINTENANCE INDICATOR WHICH DISAPPEARED AFTER RESTART.. PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTARTED. VEHICLE FINE AFTER RESTARTING. NOTICED THIS VEHICLE AND YEAR HAD A SAFETY RECALL 16S31 FOR MODELS BUILT IN CHICAGO. I CHECKED MY VIN. NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL, HOWEVER I HAVE A FORD TAURUS 3.5 LITER BUILT AT THE CHICAGO PLANT. NOT SURE WHY I WASN'T INCLUDED IN SAFETY RECALL IF VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO LOOSE POWER ESPECIALLY ON BUSY FREEWAYS.
