Consumer Description
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 BMW X5. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AND THE FUEL CAP WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MCKENNA BMW (LOCATED AT 10900 FIRESTONE BLVD, NORWALK, CA 90650, (562) 219-4570), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V746000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AND THE FUEL PUMP WAS ALSO REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY AT MCKENNA BMW; HOWEVER, THE REPAIRS DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,025.
