Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO THE WRONG GEAR AND LOST POWER. AN UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED AN ELECTRONIC SENSOR INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SPEEDWAY FORD (1710 N EXPY, GRIFFIN, GA 30223, (888) 324-4186) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VALVE BODY OF THE TRANSMISSION WAS LEAKING AND LOSING PRESSURE. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VALVE WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE COMPUTER WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPROGRAMMED AND MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
