Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP COMPASS. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DECELERATED FROM 60 MPH TO 5 MPH IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSTATE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE INTERSTATE ONTO A SMALLER ROAD WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. CHRYSLER, JEEP WEST VALLEY IN RESEDA, CALIFORNIA DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY CONTROL WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF THE MILEAGE WARRANTY COVERAGE OF 30,000. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,900.
