Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN. WHILE THE CONTACT'S SON WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUTTERED AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE'S TIMING CHAIN SKIPPED AND CAUSED THE ENGINE TO FAIL. THE TIMING CHAIN AND THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
