Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NOTICED WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND THE RPMS DECREASED TO ZERO. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART IT AFTER A FEW MINUTES, BUT THE ENGINE SHOOK. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000. UPDATED 08/23/17*LJ
