TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE STATIONARY, THE ALTERNATOR OVERHEATED AND THE BATTERY CAUGHT FIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SMOKE APPEARED UNDER THE HOOD. IN ADDITION, THE PCM HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE FIRE EXTINGUISHED ON ITS OWN. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FIRE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,800.
