Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A MOUNTAIN AT APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO VIEW THE GAUGES. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V240000 (POWER TRAIN). THE PART NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 33,052. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
