Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OPENED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT HAD A PASSENGER THAT HELD THE DOOR SECURED MEANWHILE THE VEHICLE IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LATCH MECHANISM FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
