Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, A DING NOISE WAS HEARD AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE BRAKING AND STEERING ABILITY SEIZED. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. AFTER APPROXIMATELY FIVE MINUTES, THE VEHICLE STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A MECHANICAL PUMP ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
