Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. DURING THE CRASH, THE FRONT END SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT ALL THE OTHER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A FRACTURED THORACIC VERTEBRAE AND A HEAD CONTUSION THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN UNKNOWN LOCATION. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
