Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS FAILED TO DEACTIVATE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE CAUSED THE BATTERY TO FAIL. IN ADDITION, CHILDREN SEATED IN THE REAR SEATS WERE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS WHEN CHILD LOCK WAS ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V246000(LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
