Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V003000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE), BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. UPON RE-FUELING THE VEHICLE, THE FUEL TANK FILLER TUBE INLET CHECK VALVE WOULD NOT FULLY CLOSE OR THE FILLER NECK MAY HAVE FRACTURED AND CAUSED A LEAKAGE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT WAS TO RE-FUEL THE VEHICLE TO TEST THE FAILURE, AND THAT THE CONTACT DID NOT COMPLY WITH WHAT THE DEALER STATED. THE DEALER PERFORMED A SMOKE TEST, BUT FOUND NO FAILURE. THE DEALER REFUSED TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO ANOTHER DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V313000 (AIR BAGS). THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
