Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 DODGE RAM 2500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT TIE ROD FAILED WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DEALER REPLACED THE TIE ROD AND THE STEERING LINKAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER DENIED REIMBURSEMENT, STATING THAT THE RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V350000 (STEERING: LINKAGES: TIE ROD ASSEMBLY) WAS ONLY FOR AFTERMARKET TIE RODS HOWEVER, THE TIE ROD ON THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER'S PART. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS WAS 74,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
