Consumer Description

BURNING SMELL ORIGINATING FROM FAILED SEAL (NOW ON NATIONAL BACKORDER THIS PAST YEAR) IN PTU ASSEMBLY ON MOST FORD EDGE AND MERCURY MKX MODELS. I'VE HAD MY VEHICLE IN THE SHOP 3 TIMES OVER THE PAST YEAR AND THEY DO NOT HAVE REPLACEMENT PTU ASSEMBLIES IN STOCK AS THE COMPANY WHO MADE THEM ARE NOW OUT OF BUSINESS. TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKS FROM PTU ASSEMBLY ONTO EXHAUST, INTO VENTS AND INTO OUR LUNGS. VEHICLE IS STILL IN THE SERVICE AREA AT MIDWAY FORD IN ROSEVILLE, MN. THEY SAY I CAN DRIVE IT UNTIL THEY FIND A PART, HOWEVER IT IS WINTER AND THAT IS NOT AN OPTION AS THE WINDOWS MUST REMAIN OPEN.
