JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED 2002 FORD EXPLORER FROM A DEALER. KEPT SCHEDULED MAINT. HAS BEEN OFF LOT FOR SIX MONTHS. NOTICED A LOUD ENGINE KNOCK FROM FRONT OF THE ENGINE. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER!, THEY SAID I HAD BLOWN A ROD BEARING. HAS TO BE SOMETHING WITH THE ENGINE. ENGINE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE 60,000 MILES ON IT. NO SIGN OF AN OIL LEAK, SLUDGE,ETC. DEALER SAID THE ENGINE WAS CLEAN. *JB
