THE SEAL ON MASTER CYLINDER CAN FAIL AND LEAK BRAKE FLUID.

Consequence: LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID CAN RESULT IN POOR BRAKING PERFORMANCE, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

Remedy: CARDONE WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND OFFER TO REPURCHASE ANY DEFECTIVE MASTER CYLINDERS. THE RECALL BEGAN DURING APRIL 2007. OWNERS CAN CONTACT CARDONE AT 1-800-777-4780.

Defect: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, A COMBINATION OF THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR IRREGULARITIES, A DIRTY THROTTLE HOUSING, AND/OR INEFFICIENT SOFTWARE CALIBRATION MAY CAUSE A WARNING LAMP TO LIGHT AND THE SUBSEQUENT ONSET OF LIMP HOME MODES.

Consequence: THIS RESULTED IN A HIGH NUMBER OF VEHICLES GOING INTO THE LIMP HOME MODE WITHOUT NEED.

Consequence: THE HEAD LIGHTS MAY NOT OPERATE PROPERLY WHICH COULD RESULT IN INTERMITTENT OR NO HEADLIGHT FUNCTION. THIS COULD IMPAIR A DRIVER'S VISIBILITY, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

THEY REPLACED EVERYTHING THAT YOU CAN IMAGINE AT A COST OF OVER 10,000 DOLLARS WHICH BOTH OF US SPENT IN A TWO MONTH PERIOD. BUT AFTER THEY GOT IT TO PASS SMOG I NOTICED ANOTHER MORE SERIOUS PROBLEM, IT WOULD STOP RUNNING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I TOLD THEM ABOUT THIS NEW PROBLEM AND THEY REPLACED THE KEY AND IT STILL STOPPED ON ME 3 X ON THE FREEWAY AND STREETS. I RETURNED THE CAR GOING DOWN THE MAIN STREETS FOR 2 HOURS AND LIFT IT WITH THE COMPANY. MCKEVITT VOLVO IN SAN LEANDRO CA.
