TO THE OWNERS OF THE VEHICLES. THEY STATED PROGRAM WAS A 15 YEAR WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM AND IT WAS SUPPOSED TO LAST FROM THE ORIGINAL DATE OF SERVICE ON THE VEHICLE FOR 15 YEARS. THEY CLAIM TO HAVE CLOSED THE PROGRAM, BUT THIS WAS OPEN TO TACOMAS ALL THE WAY THROUGH 2004. 15 YEARS AFTER 2004 IS 2019. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER IN 2009 FOR AN EVALUATION OF THE FRAME AND WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG AND THE CORROSION RESISTANT TREATMENT WAS NOT NEEDED. IN JULY 2016, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE VEHICLE HAD MISSED THE WARRANTY REPAIR IN 2012. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.

MY TOYOTA TACOMA IS READY TO FOLD IN HALF DUE TO THE EXTENT OF FRAME RUST. THE MECHANIC WENT ON TO SAY THAT THE FRAME RUSTED FROM THE INSIDE OUT DUE TO INADEQUATE DRAIN HOLES.

IN 2012, I DROVE MY TOYOTA TACOMA PICKUP TRUCK TO A LOCAL DEALER IN RESPONSE TO A RECALL LETTER. I WAS RESPONDING TO A NOTICE THAT TOYOTA HAD MAILED TO ME. THE RECALL WAS FOR A SPARE TIRE CARRIER THAT MAY FALL OFF THE FRAME AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS BECAUSE OF A KNOWN CORROSION PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT PERFORM THE REPAIR BECAUSE THE VEHICLE'S FRAME WAS TOO BADLY CORRODED. THE DEALERSHIP PERFORMED A FRAME INSPECTION, & THEY TOLD ME MY VEHICLE HAD "FAILED". THE DEALERSHIP DID NOTHING, EXCEPT TO CONTACT TOYOTA CORP. REPRESENTATIVES FROM TOYOTA HAVE TELEPHONED ME TWICE TO SAY THAT THEY WILL DO NOTHING.
