Toyota issued a recall due to suspected second row seat welds failing in a crash on October 7, 2025, with Safety Recall Notice mailed beginning of December 2025, and has not offered a remedy. The suggestion of not having anyone sit in the second row for over four months now is absurd and warrants investigation. We purchased the van with needing the space to occupy 5+ passengers and are not able to have all passengers sit in the third row. Using third row is inconvenient for car seats and parents in their mid [XXX] . This is complete negligence by Toyota. Keeping the van on a dealer lot for months on end will be bad for batteries, brakes and rotors. With no timeline for a remedy and by doing a welding repair it may cause future issues with the van from rust prevention, electronics and etc. We noticed unusual vibrations from 2nd row seats both with car seats in place and with just grocery bags within the 1st week of driving the van back in July 2025. We were notified by Toyota that it was unsafe to transport our children in the second row seats in November 2025 and the vehicle was under a recall. This puts our children at risk. A letter from NHTSA stated Toyota would have a remedy by 12/6. The manufacturer (Toyota) confirmed this recall. Given that Toyota has not indicated a solution date for this and the problem was discovered in October 2025. The manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for our vehicle in a timely manner and would like to officially log a complaint with NHTSA. Thank you.
The second row seat rails have been improperly welded, and we have been told not to use the second row. The recall was issued in October 2025. There is no fix scheduled. We have a baby and a young child. This car is unsafe for them.
We were notified by Toyota that it was unsafe to transport our children in the second row seats in November 2025 and the vehicle was under a recall. This puts our children at risk. Toyota said fix would be by Dec 2025. No fix yet, they have not given any other communication and in the recall letter said not to use the second row. Paying for a car where I can’t use the second row seats and they need to fix this now and stop delaying this costly repair to them. They continue to make new cars even though all 55K of us in the recall are waiting for them to help us.
