THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SLOW DOWN AND ACCELERATED ONTO THE ROAD. THE ENGINE REVVED WITH AN INCREASE OF THE RPMS. THE GEAR WAS SHIFTED INTO THE NEUTRAL POSITION IN ORDER TO STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN WITH CAUTION TO THE RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,100. THE RIGHT REAR SIDE OF THE VEHICLE STRUCK A RETAINING FENCE AND CAUSED THE HIM TO SPIN AROUND. THE CONSUMER SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES. NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AS THE DAMAGE TO THE FENCE WAS MINOR.

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO THE GAS PEDAL MODIFICATION. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER THE MODIFICATION WAS PERFORMED AS PER RECALL, IT APPEARED THE LEADING EDGE OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL NOW HAS A HIGHER DISTANCE MEASURED FROM THE FLOOR-WELL TO THE BOTTOM SIDE OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. WITH THE NOW SHORTER PEDAL THERE IS AMPLE ROOM TO REST HIS/HER FOOT UNDERNEATH THE GAS PEDAL. UPON INSPECTING THE MODIFIED GAS PEDAL, THE CONSUMER OBSERVED THAT AN EXPOSED NUB AT THE BOTTOM SIDE OF THE PEDAL MIGHT BE A CAUSE OF POTENTIAL PROBLEMS FOR THE DRIVER. IN THE EVENT THAT A DRIVER IS REQUIRED BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC CONDITIONS, TO MAKE A FAST MOVE WITH HIS/HER LEGS TOWARDS THE BRAKE THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE SHOE STRAPS MAY GET CAUGHT IN THE NOW EXPOSED NUB. *JB
