VEHICLE SPORADICALLY STALLS WHILE DRIVING, NOT A STOP LIGHT OR SIGN BUT WHILE THE CAR IS ACTIVELY BEING DRIVEN AND THE ACCELERATOR IS DEPRESSED. MOST RECENTLY IT HAS BEGUN TO REV UP BETWEEN 4,000 AND 5,000 RPM. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO TRY TO GET IT BACK TO NORMAL. 2 DAYS AGO WHEN THIS HAPPENED IT CAUSED ME TO HIT A POT HOLE HARD ENOUGH TO BREAK MY DRIVER SIDE BALL JOINT AND LOWER CONTROL ARM. I SEE RECALLS FOR OTHER, SAME YEAR MODEL SUZUKIS THAT EXPERIENCED THIS SAME ISSUE. I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY TO REPAIR A KNOWN MECHANICAL DEFECT. THERE IS ALSO AN NHTSA ID DESCRIBING THIS ISSUE AS WELL. IT IS EXTREMELY SCARY TO HAVE THE CAR REVING THAT HIGH AND TRYING TO CONTROL IT. I AM THANKFUL THAT I ONLY HIT A POT HOLE AND NOT ANOTHER VEHICLE...
WHEN PUTTING THE CAR IN GEAR IN EITHER REVERSE OR DRIVE, THERE IS A LOUD THUNK AND JUMPING FEELING. THERE WILL ALSO BE AN 'X' ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL NEXT TO THE 'D' FOR DRIVE ON THE SHIFT SELECTOR. I HAVE RESEARCHED WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE AND IT IS THE THE RANGE TRANSMISSION SENSOR, IT APPEARS AFTER RESEARCHING THIS IS A VERY CHRONIC PROBLEM IN THE SUZUKI FORENZA.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 SUZUKI FORENZA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,800.
I FACE THE HEAT ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS LIKE THE OTHER SUZUKI CARS OF SIMILAR MODELS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY.
BATTERY INDICATOR AND BRAKE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE CLUSTER PANEL. WHEN IN DRIVE, THE DISPLAY SHOWING WHAT GEAR YOU ARE IN FLASHES AN UNRECOGNIZABLE SIGNAL. SOME TROUBLE ACCELERATING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 SUZUKI FORENZA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START UNTIL AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE OVERHEATED AND CAUSED INTERNAL DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 SUZUKI FORENZA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THERE WAS FUEL LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
I BOUGHT MY 2006 SUZUKI FORENZA BRAND NEW. THE ENGINE GAVE OUT ON ME IN 2009. I REPLACED THE ENGINE ONCE. ADDITIONAL TO THE ENGINE PROBLEMS, ONE DAY WHILE EXITING FROM A MAJOR HIGHWAY, THE CAR JUST STOPPED GOING ABOUT 45 MPH AND STARTED GOING ABOUT 10 MPH, WHILE A NOTICEABLE FLASHING SQUARE WITH A BLINKING LINE COMES UP ON THE GEAR INDICATOR, ON THE DASH. I ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR WHICH I'VE NOW REPLACED TWO TIMES. NOTE: BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSORS WERE PLACED AND STILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. WHEN I PUT IT FROM PARK TO DRIVE (GEAR), THE MOTOR JERKS AND FEELS LIKE THE MOTOR'S GOING TO FALL OFF. THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HAS ALSO FAILED TO PASS INSPECTION. THE A/C GAVE OUT ABOUT 2 YEARS FROM THE TIME I BOUGHT IT (BRAND NEW CAR). IT'S NOT A RELIABLE...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 SUZUKI FORENZA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF AND FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.

I WILL BE DRIVING AND THE SHIFT GEAR WILL AUTOMATICALLY SHIFT INTO ANOTHER GEAR. OR I CAN START THE CAR AND THE GEAR WILL NOT GO INTO DRIVE AND IT WILL NOT GO FORWARD. I PURCHASED A USED 2006 SUZUKI FORENZA 2006IN OCT 2012. THE FIRST BREAK DOWN WAS A WEEK AFTER PURCHASE THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE WATER PUMP. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THAT WAS REPLACE IN DECEMBER 2012 I WAS DRIVING TO WORK I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND THERE WAS A SHAKE IN THE ENGINE IT BEGIN TO JERK AND DID NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE. I TOOK IT TO AAMCO WHERE THEY SAID IT HAD TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION SWITCH. THEY FIXED IT AFTER TWO WEEKS I WAS COMING OFF THE FREEWAY AGAIN AT THE STOP LIGHT MY CAR SHOOK AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON I TOOK IT BACK AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE SAME CODE THAT HAD COME UP THE FIRST TIME. THEY FIXED IT AGAIN. THEN A MONTH LATER THE SAME THING HAPPEN I ENDED UP TAKING IT TO A DEALERSHIP...
JANUARY 2011 AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR LOST ALL SPEED AND THEN JUST STOPPED. I COULD NOT TURN IT OVER AND ONCE I GOT IT TO THE SHOP THEY SAID THE PISTON'S WENT THROUGH THE ENGINE. THEY REPLACED THE ENGINE LATER IN THE MONTH. JUNE 2013 THE SAME THING HAPPENED. PISTON THROUGH THE ENGINE COMPLETELY BLOWN UP AND NOW THEY WILL NOT REPLACE IT BECAUSE I AM TWO MONTHS PAST MY WARRANTY. FOR SOME REASON I THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE A WARRANTY ON THE REPLACED ENGINE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW IN 2006 AND FOLLOWED ALL THE WARRANTY REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE . *TR
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I WENT TO AUTO ZONE AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR. AFTER SOME RESEARCH, WE DISCOVERED THIS PROBLEM RUNS RAMPANT ON 2006 SUZUKI FORENZA MODELS. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE MANAGER OVER PARTS AND SERVICE CHANGED THE SENSOR FOR US. HOWEVER, THE CONNECTOR IT PLUGS INTO WAS BROKEN AND HE WOULD LOOK FOR A USED ONE, AS BUYING A NEW ONE MEANS BUYING A WHOLE NEW ENGINE HARNESS ($800-$900). ANYTIME I LOOK UP MY MAKE AND MODEL THIS IS ALL ANYONE HAS TO SAY AND SUZUKI WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT IT EXCEPT CHARGE MORE MONEY TO KEEP TRYING TO FIX IT.THEY SHOULD BE FORCED TO RECALL ALL OF THESE VEHICLES UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS RESOLVED. *TR
FOR APPROXIMATELY YEAR PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT DATE INDICATED ON THIS FORM, 06/05/2012, MY VEHICLE HAS MALFUNCTIONED SPORADICALLY IN THE WAY(S) I AM ABOUT TO DESCRIBE. SINCE 6/05/2012, THE MALFUNCTION HAS OCCURRED AND WORSENED EVERY TIME I DRIVE. UPON THE INITIAL GEAR SHIFT FROM "PARK" TO "REVERSE," MY SUZUKI FORENZA JERKS. AFTER THE SHIFT, THE DASHBOARD DISPLAYS A "P," DESPITE BEING IN REVERSE. WHEN I SHIFT TO DRIVE, I FEEL A JERK, AND MY DASHBOARD DISPLAYS A MULTITUDE OF THINGS; AT TIMES IT REMAINS A "P," AND AT OTHER TIMES IT SHOWS "N" FOR NEUTRAL, "R" FOR REVERSE, A SIMPLE "D," OR A FLASHING "D" WITH A DIAGONAL LINE THROUGH IT. AS I PRESS THE GAS TO ACCELERATE, MY RPM'S INCREASE, THE ENGINE REVS, BUT MY CAR DOES NOT MOVE FORWARD FOR A PERIOD OF ANYWHERE FROM 10 SECONDS TO A FULL MINUTE. THE VEHICLE THEN JERKS AND SHOOTS FORWARD...
