2021 RAM 1500 Unknown Or Other Problems

- Driver side lock stays locked when unlocking the vehicle. Unable to enter and access the vehicle. It will also stay in the unlocked position when locking the vehicle. Vehicle is accessible to break-in. - The safety of passengers, such as my children, is at risk in the event I need to quickly access the inside of my vehicle's driver side if it's locked. For example, if my vehicle needs to be turned off in an emergency or the truck needs to be quickly driven or the gear be changed (say, if accidently not placed in park and the vehicle begins to move), etc. - Dealer has not confirmed issue. - Vehicle has not been inspected. - No prior warning messages or prior symptoms

UNKNOWN when driving either Freeway or City there is vibration in vehicle involved often. also the cargo bed slightly shakes and brakes feels like it is tight when releasing you can feel somewhat rubbing the tires.

Sunroof exploded when driving on highway. Safety was put at risk with glass and being startled when driving. Contacted dealer and also FCA, pending contact back. No prior signs that glass was pending failure. Glass blew outwards from the roof.

The Map installed by the factory in my new 2021 Ram truck displays incorrect speed limits at times. This is dangerous as it always shows 55mph even in a 25mph zone when it is malfunctioning. If you are in an unfamiliar area, and have not passed a physical speed limit sign, this incorrect information could cause a wreck if there are sudden curves or other dangers on that road. Ram refuses to fix under warranty saying it is third party software. I contacted the software company and was told that they have no warranty on their defective software and I would have to buy a new map for $149 and see if that fixes the issue. I questioned her further as she had said "see" if it fixes it and she said the speed limits that their software shows are not always correct and should not be relied on. She...

For my 2021 Ram Laramie 1500 the Auto Park engages on its on at random times. This has happened to me twice in the last 2 moths. No doors have been open and any passenger in the car has the seat belt engaged. Once it happened when no one but me was in the vehicle, the second time was with my family in the car. Fortunately it has only happened while leaving the neighbor hood and going less than 25 MPH. Each time, this happens, the AutoPark has been engaged and the light above D is flashing. While this is a neat safety feature it shouldn't happen while I'm driving and belted in.

This has happened 3 times at low speed 2-4 mph. I was making a right hand turn and the truck stalled & shut off. Information on the dash told me to put it into park. I stopped & put it into park. The emergency brake automatically engaged. After disengaging the emergency brake, I started my truck up. No issues once I started it back up & resumed driving. It happened twice at a traffic circle in my neighborhood & once as I was turning right at a light. Thank goodness no one was behind me or it would have possibly caused a rear end collision. This issue has not been reproduced by a dealer or independent service center.

2021 Dodge Ram Big Horn purchased at Golling Chrysler in Michigan, you know the auto capital of America. It has been in the shop four or five times in the past year (well over 30 days in shop) for the identical problem, slams on brakes for no reason - I named my truck, “death trap”! WHILE DRIVING ON A ROAD GOING APROX 20 TO 25MPH MY TRUCK STALLED. Within first mile of operation within neighborhood while accelerating through away from stop sign executing a left hand turn traveling below 15 mph the vehicle stalls. Truck immediately automatically engages parking brake forcing sudden stop. Issue has occurred intermittently at least once a month since purchase. Vehicle is not set for auto emergency braking. This issue is a significant safety issue for anyone on roads.

We came to a stop sign. Went to press the gas to proceed into the road with on coming traffic. The truck started to accelerate and then the engine cut off. The emergency braking system was engaged and the dash light reflected that. After a few seconds we were able to restart the truck. Luckily just before we were hit by other vehicles since we were left in the middle of a busy road with morning traffic in both directions. I do not feel safe driving this truck. I quickly googled the issue and found many other threads of complaints with the same issue. Please do the research on this before people are killed!

I almost died, when my truck stalled as I was entering a major thoroughfare. This primarily has to do with the auto start/stop option on my Ram, which if you do not come to a complete stop, and attempt to accelerate with this feature on, the vehicle stalls. This has happened to me several times, and if you go on the online forums it is happening to many other Ram drivers, it is a serious safety issue, as you have no control over the stall due to the computer. Basically, when I am coming to a stop and then accelerate with the vehicle at a slow crawl, 2-3 MHP, the truck stalls. Vehicle simply turned off while driving at slow speed. Once I pulled over and place it in park and started it back like nothing happened.

As I’m preparing to turn on the road the vehicle turns off and leaves me stranded in the middle of the roadway. The parking brake comes on and messages appear on the dash. This has happened multiple times with and without passengers in the vehicle. I’ve reported it to Lithia Ram Jeep in Calallen and was brushed off. I’ve taken pictures of the dash on a few occasions when it occurred. I am the first owner and it happened with less than 3-5 k miles.

When starting to accelerate after turning at low speed, my 2021 RAM 1500 with the E-Torque engine will shut-off and the emergency brake will engage. A message will appear that says “Park brake engaged, press brake and push to release.” Truck has 5150 miles on it. This has occurred two different times while entering highway traffic. 2021 Ram 1500 Laramie crew cab with the Hemi etorque has 10k miles. Today traveling at approximately 35 mph I slowed to yield at a round about but did not reach a complete stop, as I went to go my truck went forward into a very busy round about and the engine shut off completely. I stalled, rolling into a 2 lane roundabout on a busy road, fearful for my life. Center screen stated to place vehicle in park before starting. I placed my flashers on and mid panic attack managed to think enough to restart the engine. I placed the shifter dial into Park and restarted without any issue. The emergency brake had become engaged at this time. I was able to release that and safely exit the roundabout. I did cause a backup and was left in a potentially lethal situation. Very very scary. When attempting to make a turn on a back street after a partial rolling stop the vehicle stalled out. The engine cut off and I was fortunate enough to be able to coast to the side of the ride without harming anyone else. The vehicle automatically applied hazard lights, engaged the parking brake once I came to a complete stop, and signaled for me to "push to start" the vehicle again. Prior to that occurring no warning signs were given that the vehicle was having any issues. Unknown Failure causing issue. Vehicle's Engine Shutoff while traveling down the road with no warning messages. Then message says to apply breaks and push "start", but it was in the "Run" and still coasting in Drive on the road. After it slowed to about 5-10 mph, the emergency break system engaged and the vehicle went to "Park" causing the vehicle to throw me forward in the seat and objects were thrown as if I had collided with something. As i slowed down to turn right and get on highway truck died and had to easy to side of highway and restart

On several occasions since purchase of a new 2021 RAM 1500 the backup camera has failed to work when in reverse. A black screen is displayed. Repeated efforts to turn the backup camera on by putting the vehicle in reverse or selecting the backup camera from the control panel resulted in a black screen. Repeated efforts to turn the vehicle off and on several times consecutively had the same result. I also tried opening and closing the tail gate with no positive result.

My new truck has less than 500 miles on it, and it was just purchased new last month. This incident has happened to me twice so far on the mornings of 10/31/2021 and 11/7/2021. Making a slow left hand turn, the vehicle turned off and and stopped in the middle of the intersection. The vehicle emergency brake also automatically was set when it stalled. The message on the dash said something like to restart, put foot on brake and push start button. This incident was very dangerous and could have resulted in an accident. I am lucky I was not hit in the intersection. In both cases, this occurred about a mile from my home and my initial trip of the day. Temperature outside was normal about 60 degrees. 04-19-21, 05-18-21, 07-05-21, 09-19-21, 10-06-21, 10-30-21. Engine shuts off while making a right hand turn at approximately 10-15 mph. Emergency flashers automatically turn on, "Shift to P to start" appears on dash. I then brake to come to a complete stop. The truck then converts its-self from "Drive" to "Park" and engages the emergency brake. "Press brake and push button to start appears on dash". I press brake and push button to start vehicle. While making a left hand turn at approximately 5-9mph, my engine turned off. I braked the vehicle to a stop and the Emergency break then automatically haulted the vehicle to a stop. Once stoped the dash read “press brake and push button to start”. The dash then read “park brake auto engaged press brake +push switch to release”. While driving and making a right turn low speed 10 mph to 20 mph .. the car completely shuts off on me .. happened 2x within 2000 miles of each other . No engine codes or anything . I pull over to the side and put in park and car turns back on. Major safety issue if it happens during high traffic. Once again I'm having to make a complaint. While going 70 on the freeway the truck shut off out of nowhere. Almost causing multiple vehicle to hit me with my kids in the car! I drove in to park, I pulled more to the right to give way to pulling out going car I did not notice 3-short protective steel pole that caused damage to running board & scratches on front passenger door. Had the early warning device sensor of side bumper sounded,Icould have avoided it. I Tested, even the front sensors were not working not even warning lights in the instrument screen. I was driving truck at 25 mph. I started slowing down to make a left turn. upon making left turn, power was lost and I tried to step on the gas but no power. truck full of gas with only 90 miles at time of occurrence. sign on the dash to put truck on park as it was loosing power. radio and lights remained on but no power. truck came to a complete stop. turned off and tried to turn back on and once it turned on emergency brake was automatically applied by vehicle. removed parking brake and truck was shaking and acting as if transmission or something was going to go out again.

While making a right hand turn from a stop at low speed, my truck completely stalled all electrical systems and dash indicators turned off or failed and the vehicle coasted to a stop. I was able to restart the truck using the normal start procedure and there were no further issues. This could have resulted in a traffic accident with potentially fatal injuries.

Just purchased truck a few days ago. Only 350 miles on it now. On 9-27-21 at approximately 8:50am, I was taking my son to school. I stopped at a stop sign and then proceeded to make a right turn onto the roadway when all of a sudden the engine cut off. Everything else stayed on in the truck. It would not allow me to apply the brakes, start the engine, turn the steering wheel, etc. It traveled across the roadway, into oncoming traffic lane, and then came to a soft stop by itself halfway on the roadway. PEB AND FCW with BRAKING did not work when truck hit a 90 gallon empty trash can at less than 6 mph. There was no damage to the truck nor the can. These systems are supposed to brake when the truck is about to hit something. If the can were a person, damage would have been done. The dealer service man said he thought it should have braked and scheduled to be looked at September 27, 2021 at 8 AM. There was no known warnings at the time of this incident in August 2021.

Truck stalls while making hard turns, usually at slower speeds. Truck has also cut off while making a turn into traffic. I've read about a number of consumers having the same issue with the etorque Hemi engines. To answer the above questions: - Not sure what system failed but the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. - The safety of myself & family are put at risk anytime the stalling occurs, especially when turning on to a road with oncoming traffic as the truck could potentially shut off again automatically. - The issue has yet to be confirmed by a dealer. Backup camera sometimes has blank screen and guide lines sometimes are not there and zoom function does not work when no guidelines. Truck has been to the dealership 5-7 times, in January they replaced the camera itself but did not fix the issue. I was to they cannot do anything at this point unless it fails at the dealer. It does not have the trailer backup camera.

I started the truck and drove about a 1/4 mile in my neighborhood. I never got over 20 mph. I approached a red stop light to turn right. I stopped at the light to check for traffic. I then proceeded to turn right and 1/2 way through the turn the truck shut off without warning and it automatically applied the emergency brake. Luckily there were no cars coming in the right hand lane else we could have been hit. I am taking it to the dealership tomorrow for inspection. The info screen notified me that the emergency brake had been applied and that the transmission had been autoset to park. It said to apply the brake to start the truck (it has push button start). I did so and the truck started. I disengaged the emergency brake and the truck then drove normally the rest of the trip.

I was turning right, going less than 5 MPH when the truck stopped abruptly in the middle of the lane. A message came on the dash telling me to switch the shifter to park. The emergency brake was engaged automatically. I had only applied minimal accelerator and didn't have my foot on the brake. After a few seconds, I was able to disengage the parking brake and continue on my way. This was very dangerous as there were people behind me that may not have noticed my abrupt stop after turning. Pulled out into Traffic SEVERE lack of acceleration almost cause Me to get hit in the Driver side door. Got online and noticed a lot of People complaining about a Pedal Lag. This Is DANGEROUS and needs to be addressed. This is a 2021 Ram with 283 miles on it again this is a DANGEROUS issue

I PARKED MY TRUCK, SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, AND EXITED AND WENT INSIDE. I WAS WALKING MY DOG SEVERAL MINUTES LATER AND SEEMED TO NOTICE MY TRUCK MOVING BACKWARDS. I SAW THE FRESH TRACKS IN THE SNOW IN FRONT OF MY TRUCK AND REALIZED THAT IT WAS ROLLING BACKWARD ON MY DRIVEWAY. I GOT IN, PRESSED THE BRAKES TO STOP THE ROLLING AND TRIED CYCLING THE POWER. MY KEYS WERE INSIDE SO I RUSHED IN TO GET THEM AND THEN BACK TO THE TRUCK. IT STARTED WITHOUT CHANGING THE SHIFT SELECTOR KNOB, SO IT HAD DEFINITELY BEEN REQUESTED TO ENGAGE PARK.
