The electronic stability control has failed, due to sway bar links are worn out and causing wheels to vigorously wobble causing the Eps input circuit to shut down the system to avoid overloading the circuit and burning up the module , I believe the recall hasn't been fixed , Can you please consider the issue as dangerous and repair my car ... I am not trying to say this but I am homeless and dependent on the car for shelter as well as transportation... Please note don't use last statement to show sympathy on me ... I am doing ok today, Thank you, have a blessed day
Power steering loss in dangerous weather conditions and almost lost control and I'm not going to feel safe until I find a way to get it repaired recall (15V064)
On kelly blue book, my 2006 pontiac g6 has a recall for power steering which is the number 1 recall for the exact make and model in other people’s cars, but the recall is not showing on the nhtsa. power steering does not work and the steering wheel shakes a lot. i just bought the car in late december
Recall history for my car says that the recall has been taken care of for the power steering, but the car has power steering issues very badly
Steering and steering wheel shakey and the power steering randomly goes out.
When driving I can’t steer correctly steering wheel goes stiff where I can’t turn the electric powering light comes on
When I go to pull into a parking spot or leave a parking lot I sometimes (often) hear a dinging sound then all of the sudden I lose power steering to where I almost hit the cars around me. There has been the same make, model and year of my car that has had a previous recall for electric power steering assist (eps) in the past
While driving the vehicle, the break lights are on, when you stop, or press the break peddle, the break lights go out, therefore giving no warning to the vehicles behind you.
I have had to get 3 new keys made for this car due to the security light coming on, sometimes it will not crank or start, so I have replaced the starter twice, have replaced relays and fuses, and the security light will come on while drive down the road and all gauges drop to zero, even the gas light says empty and every light on the dash comes on. But the car will still drive. But once you turn it off it will not start for a few hours! It’s impossible to find parts for Pontiac anymore so everything has to be ordered! This should’ve been recalled a long time ago!
The electric power steering went out while driving. I could not steer the car. Very dangeres in traffic. The Torque Sensor failed which controls the power steering. There is a recall on the issue (#14772) but my Vin is not listed.
Power steering warning on radio, never once did a warning light on dash come up. This started at about 193,000 miles. Turning over car constantly to get my power steering to start. About a month after it just went out while driving approximately 40 mph. Kept pulling over to restart car, never turned back on. Potential wreck trying to turn to get into work parking lot when the car wouldn’t turn. Dealerships claim my car was fixed already years ago, however this problem with the steering started again apparently at about 193,000 miles. The steering wheel started jerking and shaking when the car was idle around the same time the power steering message came across the radio. The car would also randomly lock my horn, didn’t realize it could do that until I couldn’t honk when someone was merging into me.
My car stopped working all of a sudden in the middle of the road. no warning signs were made nor any of my lights came on. it’s rough running and never stays on long to drive. when i brake it completely shuts off. it overheats without the temperature gauge telling me it is. i don’t know exactly what is wrong but it’s not working now. i couldn’t go over 35 mph without it shutting off either.
WHILE DRIVING STEERING LOCKED UP, I HAD TO STRONG ARM THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO DRIVE CAR TOO A SAFE PLACE. ONCE I CUT THE CAR OFF AND CUT IT BACK ON IT IT WAS WORKING FINE. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE I HAVE GOTTEN IT LOOKED AT AND THRU CAN'T FIND THE ISSUE HELP PLEASE
THE CAR WAS WORKING FINE AND THEN ABOUT A WEEK AGO THE CAR WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND I STARTED IT TO GO TO LEAVE AND I COULD NOT REVERSE I'M NOT SURE WHAT IT'S CALLED BUT THERE WAS LIKE SOME KIND OF CLIP THAT SOMEBODY HAD TO PIECE TOGETHER FOR ME JUST SO IT WOULD BE ABLE TO BE DRIVABLE ALSO THE POWER STEERING LIGHT CUT FLASHING ON THE RADIO AND I CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY POWER STEERING FLUID AND I FOUND OUT THAT IT HAS THAT MOTOR WELL WHENEVER I GO IN REVERSE IT SOUNDS LIKE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IS LIKE ON BUT IT'S NOT AND WHENEVER I'M DRIVING IT FEELS LIKE IT'S BEING PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND IT CLICKS IF I TURN IT TOO FAR
THE STEERING ALMOST GAVE OUT AND MAKING NOISE. THE WHOLE STEERING ELECTRIC SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
THE STEERING WOULD LOCK UP IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. CAR WILL CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TURNING AND WOULD CAUSE A ACCIDENT.
TRANSMISSION ISN'T SHIFTING, AND SHIFT CABLE CAME APART SOMEWHERE. SEVERAL CARS JUST LIKE MINE HAVE BEEN RECALLED DUE TO THIS SAME THING HAPPENING, BUT MINE ISN'T?? CAR DOESN'T HAVE EVEN 135,000 MILES. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS SHORTING OUT SOMEWHERE, AND IS DRAINING MY BATTERY. POWER STEERING IS WORKING AGAINST ME OR NOT WORKING AT ALL. WITH MY ENGINE I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE ON TIME SINCE I'VE GOT THE CAR. THAN RIGHT BEFORE ONE OIL CHANGE I HEAR A KNOCK IN THE ENGINE. SO I GET AN OIL CHANGE AGAIN AND IT WAS STILL MAKING THIS NOISE. FOLLOWING THAT MY AIR CIRCULATION FOR THE FAN WOULD STOP WORKING AT TIMES. MY RADIO ELECTRIC LINE SEEMS DAMAGED. WORKS SOMETIMES.

MY CARS ELECTRIC SYSTEM IS COMPLETELY WENT OUT. MY HEAT AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM COMPLETELY WENT OUT . ITS EXTREMELY HARD JUST TO GET MY CAR OUT OF PARK IN MY DRIVEWAY. MY KEYS GET STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND ITS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING BECAUSE YOU CAN'T LEAVE YOUR KEYS IN THE IGNITION, OBVIOUSLY YOU HAVE TO LOCK YOUR DOOR SO NO ONE WILL STEAL YOUR CAR WHILE YOUR SLEEPING. AND THE MOST DANGEROUS PART OR WHAT'S GOING ON WITH MY CAR IS, WHEN DRIVING THE BRAKE MEDAL IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO MASH WHILE DRIVING EVEN WITH TWO FEET. AND MY MORNING COMMUTE TO WORK REQUIRES ME TO BE ON THE HIGHWAY. I'VE HAD RECALL WORK DONE TO MY 2006 PONTIAC G6 BEFORE DUE TO MY ELECTRIC SYSTEM FAILING AND THESE ARE ALL OF THE SAME SIGNS OF THE RECALL. AND I WOULDN'T DARE LET MY FAMILY RIDE IN THIS CAR....
BREAKING LIGHTS COME WITH OUT TOUCHING THE PEDDLE WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.TWO PEOPLE HAVE PULLED UP TO ME AT STOP LIGHTS TELLING ME THAT THE BREAK LIGHTS STAY ON. DRIVING DOWN THE HWY YOU AT NIGHT,YOU CAN SEE THAT THEY ARE ON,ALL THE REFLECTORS ARE LIGHTED UP

BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON WITHOUT THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING PRESSED.. SAME TIME IT TURNS OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM.. REPLACED BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN 1 MONTH LATER, AS SOON AS THE CRUISE CONTROL SHUTS OFF AT ANY SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY I STOP AND CHECK. AND OF COURSE THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE STUCK ON.
FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS, MY HEADLIGHTS HAVE BARELY BEEN WORKING. EVER SINCE I'VE GOTTEN MY CAR I'VE HAD ISSUES WITH THEM AND HAVE HAD THEM REPLACED PLUS WIRING REDONE MORE THAN 3 TIMES. EACH TIME MY LOW BEAMS GO OUT. IT STARTED WITH ONE WORKING AND ONE NOT, AND QUICKLY LED TO BOTH GOING ON. THEY WILL NOT WORK. I'VE LOOKED IT UP AND HAVE SEEN MANY PEOPLE HAVING ISSUES WITH THIS, ALONG WITH MY FRIENDS MOM HAVING THE SAME EXACT CAR, DIFFERENT YEAR MIND YOU BUT THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I'VE LOOKED UP MY VIN FOR ANY POSSIBLE RECALLS AND CAN'T COME ACROSS ONE, EVEN THOUGH I'VE SEEN THIS HAS BEEN A BIG ISSUE FOR GM. ELECTRIC HARTOP ROOF WILL NOT LATCH COMPLETLY AND WILL NOT ALLOW ACCESS TO TRUNK EITHER. HAPPEN AFETR HAVING CHEVOLET GARAGE WORK ON VEHICLE HAD OTHER ISSUES AS WELL . APPROX ON DATE HAD MULTIPLE DATES WORKED ON . KEY LOCKED THEY RPLCD KEY LOCK ASSY , THEN A CABLE WHICH WAS PROBLEM DID NOT ALLOW START AND SHIFTING OF VEHICLE. CHARGE MULTIPLE TIMES AND DID NOT FIX BUT CHARGED ALOT FOR PARTS SWAPPING TO TRY AND FIX ISSUE. ALSO CAUSED OIL LEAK AND NEVER REPAIRED STEERING ISSUE/POPPING IN FRONT END DRIVERS SIDE.

FOR THE LAST WEEK I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE IGNITION TO MY CAR THAT IT TAKES 3-5 TIMES OF ME TRYING TO START THE CAR BEFORE THE CAR WILL START. I TOOK IT TO AUTO ZONE THIS MORNING TO TEST EVERYTHING, MY STARTER ETC. WHEN THEY PLUGGED IT IN TO THE SUB PORT UNDERNEATH WHERE I PUT MY FEET FOR THE GAS AND BREAK IT WOULDN'T GIVE HIM ANY READINGS AND HE DID THIS 3-4 TIMES. HE SAID THE ONLY THING HE COULD SAY IT WAS COMPUTER ISSUES AND IF MY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON TO GET IT TURNED OFF. I LOOKED FOR RECALLS BUT NONE CAME UP. WHAT DO I DO BECAUSE COMPUTER WORK IS VERY EXPENSIVE. ANY HELP OR ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. WHILE DRIVING ANY SPEED, BRAKE LIGHTS REMAIN ON. WHEN PRESSING THE BRAKE, THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURN OFF. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND CAN POSSIBLY CAUSE A REAR END ACCIDENT.
1) STATIONARY - KEYLESS ENTRY REMOTE DOES NOT OPEN EITHER DOOR AFTER SEVERAL TIMES PRESSING THE REMOTE BUTTON. THE DOOR DOES NOT HAVE A KEY HOLE TO MANUALLY OPEN EITHER DOOR OR THE TRUNK. 2) STATONARY OR IN MOTION - LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE INOPERABLE BECAUSE BOTH WIRING CONNECTORS FOR LOW BEAM LIGHTS HAVE MELTED AND THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE.
CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT COME ON AND BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON WITHOUT BEING USED. CAR ONLY HAD 69000 MILES
POWER STEERING GOES OUT WITHOUT WARNING. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY WHEN DRIVING. MOST RECENT WAS DRIVING HOME FROM NEW YORK ON FRIDAY AND IT WENT OUT. IT COMES BACK WITHOUT WARNING AS WELL. IT IS WORKING FINE NOW. BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON WHEN DRIVING AND GO OFF WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. THIS HAPPENS 95 PERCENT OF THE TIME WITH THEM WORKING THE CORRECT WAY GETTING LESS AND LESS FREQUENT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL FAILURES THAT RANDOMLY PROGRESSED UPON PURCHASING THE VEHICLE FROM A PRIVATE SELLER. DUE TO THE VARIOUS FAILURES, THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO PASS STATE INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FOUR DIFFERENT INDEPENDENT MECHANICS, BUT A PERMANENT REMEDY COULD NOT BE PROVIDED TO PREVENT THE FAILURES. THE VARIOUS MECHANICS REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY, SPARK PLUGS, AIR FLOW SENSOR, AND BATTERY; HOWEVER, THE FAILURES CONTINUED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, AND FAILED TO START AND RESTART ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND IT DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER COMPUTER AND THE STRUTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS...
MY 2006 PONTIAC LOST ITS POWER STEERING I WAS IN MOTION, IN A PARKING LOT, IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER IT DID COME BACK BUT IT WAS SCARY I WAS TOLD IT HAD A RECALL I CALLED THE COMPANY THEY SAID IT ENDED IN 2006 I DID NOT OWN THE VEHICLE THEN. THE STEERING COLUM BECAME VERY HARD TO TURN WHILE DRIVING.

I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE ONLINE AND FOUND SEVERAL COMPLAINTS. HOWEVER, WHEN I WENT ON GM WEBSITE AND ENTER MY VIN# IT SHOWS NO RECALLS; SAME ON YOUR SITE. I WANT TO REPORT THIS BECAUSE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE I COULD HAVE BEEN IN THE PROCESSING OF TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT AND COULD HAVE HAD A SERIOUS FATAL ACCIDENT!

THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE GEAR WAS PLACED IN NEUTRAL WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND ISSUED A "SPECIAL REPAIR NOTICE TO THE VEHICLE OWNERS". THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 45,000.
THE BRAKE LIGHTS STARTED COMING ON WITHOUT THE PEDAL BEING PUSHED.THEN THE BATTERY STARTED GOING DEAD RANDOMLY WHEN PARKED.THEN ALL DASHLIGHTS FLICKERING ,POWER LOCKS LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THERESELF,AND LOST ACCELERATING POWER AND SHUT OFF ,ALL HAPPENED WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREET.HAVE TROUBLE SWITCHING GEAR SHIFT OUT OF PARK.FRONT BRAKES ALSO LOCKING UP RANDOMLY WHEN DRIVING.
ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ON DASH CAME ON DURING A ROUTINE DRIVE, AND REMAIN ON. HAD MECHANIC INSPECT- CONCLUDED THAT BOTH SENSORS WORKING, MALFUNCTION DUE TO NO ELECTRICITY BEING DELIVERED. AS A RESULT, CRITICAL CRASH AVOIDANCE FEATURES (BOTH ANTI-LOCK BRAKE AND TRACTION CONTROL ARE CRITICAL) ARE DISABLED / FAILING. REPAIR WOULD REQUIRE TRACING WIRE BACK TO POINT OF ISSUE. BEFORE HAVING A PRIVATE MECHANIC ADDRESS, I LEARNED OF RECALL FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000) EFFECTIVE AUG 18, 2014, WHEREBY GM TO ADDRESS WIRING HARNESS WITH SPACERS AND DIELECTRICAL LUBRICANT. CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS ON THIS AND TOLD NO OPEN RECALL; TOLD THAT IT WAS ALREADY ADDRESSED BY SERVICE AT DEVAN CHEVROLET, WILTON CT ON AUG 13, 2015. I DO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAD THE CAR AT THAT DEALER / SERVICE CENTER ON THAT DATE FOR ANOTHER MATTER- I HAD NO ISSUES OR SYMPTOMS WITH ABS AND TRACTION...
STEERING WHEEL STOPPED TURNING SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: ON NOVEMBER 03, 2017, MY 2006 PONTIAC G6 GTP, AUTOMOBILE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT THAT FLIPPED AND CRASHED AND CAUSING SERIOUS INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS GOING STRAIGHT ON THE HWY AND THE CAR LOST STEERING POWER AND THE CAR WENT TO THE RIGHT OF THE HWY. I WAS SURPRISED TO LEARN AT THAT TIME THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL RECALLS ISSUED ON THIS VEHICLE. SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE IN 2013, I HAVE ONLY RECEIVED ONE RECALL NOTICE IN 2015 AND I TOOK MY PONTIAC 06 G6 GTP TO OAKS GMC DEALER TO BE FIXED BY GM, AND I WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY OTHER RECALLS ABOUT THE POWER STEERING UNTIL I FOUND RESEARCH THROUGH NHTSA AFTER THE ACCIDENT, NHTSA RECALL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER 15V064000,
